Frequently Asked Questions

Sensory Friendly Days offer a modified Wild Waterworks experience for guests who prefer a calmer, quieter environment. On these dates, music will be turned off throughout the park, Pavilion 3 will be reserved as a designated calming/quiet area, Autism Ontario will be onsite near the change rooms with information and sensory supports, and additional staff across departments will be available to help support guests and families.

No. These days are designed with autistic guests and guests with sensory sensitivities in mind, but the event is not restricted to those communities. Everyone is welcome to attend. We simply ask all guests to be respectful of the quieter, modified environment.

Guests can expect:

  • No music throughout the park
  • Pavilion 3 is reserved as a designated calming/quiet area
  • Autism Ontario on-site with information, sensory activities, and resources
  • Additional staff across departments to support guests and families

Please note that automated safety announcements will still play periodically, and whistles may still be used by aquatics staff in an emergency.

While the environment is modified, this is still an operating outdoor waterpark. Some guests may still find parts of the visit challenging. For example:

  • There may be lines at admissions and at attractions
  • Admission lines are outdoors, may be exposed to weather, and do not have seating
  • Some areas may still be busy, splashy, bright, or crowded
  • Automated announcements still play, and whistles may still be used for safety
  • Staff may pause or restrict an activity or equipment at any time for safety, weather, or operational reasons
  • All guests must use standard ride queues and wait their turn for attractions

We encourage families to plan breaks during the day and make use of the calming area if needed.

Yes, it is possible. Even on a Sensory Friendly Day, a waterpark can still include waiting, transitions between activities, unexpected rule enforcement, staff directions, water spray, crowd movement, whistles, announcements, and general park noise. Some attractions also involve height, weight, and rider-position requirements that must be followed for safety. We recommend reviewing park rules in advance and planning your visit with breaks and quiet time as needed.

Regular Wild Waterworks admission rates apply for Sensory Friendly Days.

Support persons accompanying a guest with a disability are admitted free of charge, and Wild Waterworks accepts the Access2 program.

Legally defined service animals are permitted in the park, but they are not allowed in any water attraction for safety and hygiene reasons. Guests remain responsible for controlling their service animal at all times. Relief areas are available outside the main gate.
