Thank you for considering Confederation Beach Park Wild Waterworks, to host your 2018 summer picnic event.

Wild Waterworks are conveniently located just off the QEW in Hamilton, Wild Waterworks is home to one of Canada's largest outdoor wave pools. Ride the four tube slides: Night Rider, Blue Demon, Vertigo and Sidewinder. The fun continues with the heart-pounding twists of the Corkscrew and the Kamikaze - the park's six-storey body slides.

Prefer a more relaxing day? Spend some time floating along the Eazy River. Toddlers and small children will have a great time at Little Squirt Works, a fun wading pool with slides, mists and fountains.

New Park Rule for 2018!

Anyone 10 years of age and under must wear an approved lifejacket/PFD in the Wave Action Pool and the Eazy River.

For supervision of those 10 years of age and under, the guardian or designated person 16 years of age or older must be within Arm’s Reach at all times while in the water and the following ratios must be adhered to.

Children under age 6 Two children with a lifejacket/PFD to one guardian (2:1) 16 years of age or older
Children aged 6 to 10 Eight children with a lifejacket/PFD to one guardian (8:1) 16 years of age or older

Wild Waterworks will have a lifejacket/PFDs available on first come first serve bases free of charge for patron use. They will be located near the Wave Action Pool on racks. Staff will be available to assist with sizing and answer questions.  Wild Waterworks allows patrons to bring in their own approved Lifejacket/PFD/PFD for use in the Wave Action Pool and Eazy River as supplies are limited.

Lifejacket/PFDs must be approved by: Transport Canada, Oceans and Fisheries Canada, Canadian Coast Guard and USA Coast Guard Type I, 2 or III.

Booking Process

  • Confirm your event date.
  • $500 deposit ($250 deposit additional if booking a caterer) is required to hold the date
  • Picnic Agreement is signed and sent to Wild Waterworks
  • Product Service Order Form is completed and sent to Wild Waterworks (Caterer selected and confirmed)
  • Estimated Invoice is prepared from Product Service Order Form
  • Second installment representing 100% of estimated booking costs due 4-6 weeks prior to event date.
  • Products ordered are sent via Purolator once second installment is received

With 3 pavilions located inside of Wild Waterworks, we have fun and excitement for groups of any size.

Pavilion I

  • Shelter Size: 60’X20’
  • Shelter Seating: 180 - 200 people plus another 100 at tables around the pavilion
  • Shared usage of a sand volleyball court
  • Shared usage of a serving pavilion.  The serving pavilion has running water, electricity, refrigerator, chest freezer, and counter space.

Pavilion II

  • Shelter Size: 40’X20’
  • Shelter Seating: 120 - 140 people plus another 100 at tables around the pavilion
  • Shared usage of a sand volleyball court
  • Shared usage of a serving pavilion.  The serving pavilion has running water, electricity, refrigerator, chest freezer, and counter space.

Pavilion III

  • Shelter Size: 40’X20’
  • Shelter Seating: 120 - 140 people plus another 50 at tables around the pavilion
  • Shared usage of a sand volleyball court
  • Outdoor Counter space and running water

Food Service & Catering

Flexibility is the key for groups coming to Wild Waterworks. Let our experienced staff turn your company picnic into a tailor-made event with amusements, catering and entertainment. We can design to suit your budget and have accommodated groups from 25 to 5,000 people.

Choose from a variety of Food and Beverage options including:

  • Full service catering – Let our preferred caterer customize menus based on your group’s budget/taste or choose from one of their delicious barbeque menus.
  • DIY - Rent propane barbeque(s) from Wild Waterworks and host your own outdoor barbeque. Wild Waterworks allows groups to bring in food for their event. *Sorry, grill master not included!*
  • Bring in your own caterer

*Please note* In the case of third party caterers chosen by the Client, the Hamilton Region Conservation Authority shall charge an administration and access fee to the Client of one dollar ($1.00) plus applicable taxes per event participant.

  • Purchase food from our concession stands – We offer meal vouchers and ice cream vouchers for your guest’s enjoyment.

Please note: smoking, alcohol, glass or outside barbeques are not permitted inside the facility.

Insurance Requirements

  • Your organization and any third party providers are required to provide Wild Waterworks a certificate of Commercial General Liability* for all events that include any of the following:
    1. Food being Catered, or given to the public (not a private picnic, BBQ or family reunion where food is being given to invited guests)
    2. Electrical requirements (you need to plug into an outlet for power)
    3. Tents larger than 10 feet x 10 feet
    4. Amusement Rides and / or inflatables (i.e. bouncers / bouncy castles / jumping gyms). *No stakes, pegs or anchors may be driven into the ground without HCA approval.
    5. Projected attendance of over 1,000 people
  • *A minimum of $2 Million of Commercial General Liability endorsed to include both of the following as additional insured:
    • City of Hamilton (71 Main Street West, Hamilton L8P 1H1)
    • The Hamilton Region Conservation Authority (838 Mineral Springs Road, Ancaster L9G 4X1)
  • Please note $5MM for events that include Amusement Rides/Inflatables
  • Wild Waterworks municipal liability insurance coverage does not extend to cover liability arising from the actions of the party holding the event or other parties participating in the event.
  • Even if your event does not meet any of the conditions above, it is strongly recommended that you carry your own liability insurance (Commercial General Liability insurance policy with a minimum limit of $2MM).

Other

Picnic Tables inside Wild Waterworks are on a first come, first serve basis.

HCA reserves the right, in the interest of public safety to close water attractions on a temporary basis throughout the operating day. The HCA may also close specific water attractions for prolonged periods.

WILD WATERWORKS SWIMWEAR POLICY IN EFFECT

Proper bathing attire is required in all water attractions. No street cloths.  All Males (Regardless of age) must wear bathing suit shorts.  All Females must wear a one or two piece bathing suit.  Undergarments/boxer shorts are not allowed for health & sanitary reasons.  THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF SHORTS ARE NOT CONSIDERED TO BE BATHING SUITS: Unlined gym shorts (basketball type shorts), Cargo Shorts, Pants of any kind, Jean Shorts, Cut-off Shorts.  Swimwear with metal rivets, buttons, buckles, snaps, zippers or sharp objects will not be permitted on the slides as it damages the rides and could potentially injure riders. If your participants do not follow the rules they will not be permitted in the water attractions.
